During the second trimester, EIP students built two toilets and are in the process of building a water pond reserve for their community.
Even though there are more than 200 people living in KAW LAH and the surrounding villages, they have access to only one small pond a limited number of toilets. This small water pond and their limited number of toilets cannot support the whole community with adequate clean water.
Students interviewed the KAW LAH villagers and other community leaders. “Water is essential for our lives. Now we have only one small water pond for whole community. It is not useful for us especially in dry season. During the rainy season, the water is not clear. Its color is black or brown.”
“We fret about our health because most villagers are around the age of 60 or below 10 years .Additionally, an influx of refugees will return next year to KAW LAH village during the repatriation process. We desperately need a water pond for our community. It is our aim,” said KAW LAH village leader.
On the other hand, they have two toilets are available for use at EIP school. Khaing Zar Thwel, an EIP student, said, “They have a big problem regarding toilets. There is only one toilet for boys, girls, and guests often come to visit the area and the student cannot accommodate them.

“we will empower our community not only by carrying out our projects but also by giving trainings and general leadership knowledges to promote stability for our community in the future “said Sandar Win, a student of EIP.
